We have heard such great things about Bloomwood Photography we couldn’t resist asking them to feature! Based in Essex, UK they have a distinct vintage style of wedding photography. A family run business they pride themselves on having the professionalism of any big company out there but whilst being able to offer a boutique, personal experience for each and every couple. For those eagle-eyed readers, you may recognise the name from the Real Wedding of Emma & Anthony and we are very pleased to be bringing you more of their stunning work in the coming months.
CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?
No two weddings are ever the same, and we don’t treat our clients the same. Although many of the weddings we photograph are at wedding venues across Essex, we cover wedding venues across the whole of the UK. Our style is contemporary with a vintage feel, capturing natural photographs to tell the story of the day, as well as the traditional group shots with family and friends. We spend time meeting with you and getting to know you in the build up to your wedding, and offer guidance as to the photography we offer, but ultimately tailor our services to make a bespoke package for your requirements.
How would you define your style?
We take various styles of wedding photographs depending upon what exactly a bride and groom want from their wedding photography. The photographs can be edited to a range of contrasting tastes, but our ‘signature’ range, has a beautiful, vintage feel to the images.
In your opinion, what makes for great wedding photography?
Organised, happy, confident with a great eye.
What is your favourite shot to capture at a wedding?
Confetti shot.. everyone’s happy and smiling and it is just a lovely fun shot to take.
How expensive would you rate your services?
I charge £799-£1250 for one photographer and an additional £395 for a second photographer. Offering 20% Monday – Thursday discount.
If you could give any advice to upcoming brides what would it be and why?
Like every wedding photographer, we get enquiries from couples only a few months before their big day, but we also have people book with us as far as two years in advance! The biggest single piece of advice we could give to anyone is don’t rush into a decision… give yourself time.
The first thing we would say is that not all wedding photographers are the same… have a look around and talk to people to find out what styles you like and what you expect from your wedding photography. A wedding is a personal experience shared with friends and family, and the photos that record all of the moments and little details are just as personal. We get to know every couple who let us be a part of their wedding and building a relationship is an important part of getting great photographs.
